About 11 former commissioners in the cabinet of ex-Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala have offered to appear before the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission today in respect of investigation of alleged N8.2billion fraud.
The ex-commissioners may be grilled in Abuja by a team of operatives already on standby for the exercise.
Those likely to be quizzed are commissioners for Finance, Works, Health, Agriculture, Education, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Environment, Commerce, the Accountant-General of the state.
Investigation by The Nation showed that the commissioners offered to appear before ICPC last Thursday after the former State Executive Council had taken a decision that they should make themselves available for grilling.
It was learnt that the ex-commissioners opted to report in ICPC following threats that they might be declared wanted by the commission.
