The crisis rocking the Oshodi-Tapa chieftaincy family of Lagos has taken a turn for the worse, as a faction of the family has denied the election of a new head (Olori Ebi) for the family.

A faction of the family had elected Alhaji Sukurat Oshodi as the new Olori Ebi at a special meeting of the family on June 30, in Iga, Oshodi.

However, spokesperson of the Oshodi Descendants Family Forum, Imam Uthman Oshodi in a statement, yesterday, said the election was a fluke as there was no vacancy in the family headship.

He added that the Olori Ebi of Oshodi-Tapa family remains Pa Fatai Oshodi.

The statement said: "The present holder is still alive.

The only vacancy existing within the family is that of the Balogun Oshodi-Tapa stool for which the appropriate branch had refused to produce a candidate.
