Title: Pinterest Embraces Do Not Track
Post by: ReadWrite on Jul 28, 2013, 03:31 AM
Social media curatorial giant Pinterest will support the Do Not Track privacy standard (http://techcrunch.com/2013/07/26/pinterest-adds-support-for-do-not-track-as-it-begins-a-rollout-of-a-more-personalized-experience-for-users/), a browser preference that lets users opt out of having their data and activity tracked by the site. The fast-growing pinboard site (http://readwrite.com/2013/07/25/mindboggling-facts-that-will-make-you-care-about-pinterest) followed the privacy lead of Twitter, which implemented Do Not Track (https://support.twitter.com/articles/20169453) in May 2012.

Pinterest also said it added an "Edit Your Home Feed" button (http://blog.pinterest.com/post/56525800591/making-pinterest-a-bit-more-personal), a feature intended to personalize things by suggesting pins and boards based on Pinterest pages you've visited before.
