Fenerbahce confirm talks with Nigeria striker Fenerbahçe are in talks with Spartak Moscow forward Emmanuel Emenike according to club board member Talat Yilmaz.

"We are in talks with Emenike and Benfica's Cardozo and we hope to reach an agreement with one of them by next week," Yilmaz said.

"The transfer fee will be covered by the board members and close associates of the club."

The Yellow Canaries have been in talks with Cardozo for the last two-months however, are reluctant to meet the €15 million transfer fee requested by Benfica.

Fenerbahce are also in negotiations with Emenike.

The Nigerian international was signed by Fenerbahçe for €9 million in 2011 however, was sold to Spartak Moscow for €10 million - without playing a single game - following his suspected involvement in the match-fixing scandal which rocked the country last season.

Fenerbahçe would have had to sell a foreign player to accommodate either Cardozo or Emenike were the transfer to be completed because the Turkish Football Federations will only permit 10 foreign players per-club in the 2013-14 season.

The Yellow Canaries currently have 11 non-Turkish players on their books.
