Former Army private Bradley Manning (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/07/29/us-usa-wikileaks-manning-idUSBRE96S0Q120130729), on trial for leaking classified information to Wikileaks (http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/03/world/wikileaks-fast-facts), was convicted by a military court of 17 of the 22 charges (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jul/30/bradley-manning-trial-verdict-live) against him. The judge, however, found Manning not guilty of the most serious charge, that of "aiding the enemy"—aka treason. A conviction on that charge could have put Manning in prison for life without parole.
