Title: ‘Unemployment fuels corruption’
Post by: Punch on Jul 31, 2013, 05:31 PM
The District Superintendent of the Apostolic Faith Church, West and Central Africa, Revd. Bayo Adeniran, has identified unemployment as one of the factors fuelling corruption in the country.

Adeniran stated this in Lagos on Tuesday at a briefing to herald the 2013 annual camping of the church.

The exercise, which begins on August 4, will end on August 25.

The cleric said corruption was a socio-political problem that required a spiritual solution.

He said, "Our leaders should not just be blamed for corruption alone. Both leaders and followers alike must get involved in fighting corruption because it is a collective message for all humanity.

"Corruption is corruption and God is against it. Some manifest it in the public while others in secret."

On child marriage, Adeniran described it as an abuse.

He added, "God expects a man to marry an adult woman with full development of intercourseual features for child bearing."

Unemployment is something we just have to tackle in this country if we want to hear the last of corruption. Our leaders must know that.
