The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered fresh investigation into the unabated crisis and incessant violence in Orudu-Oyekan, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
.
The IG's order was sequel to a petition by counsel to the Basorun Adebayo Ajao, owner of the 653 acres of land located in the area.
.
The petition by Shola Lamid, had reported eight persons (names withheld) in the area for 'unlawful possession of firearms, threat to life, malicious damage and criminal trespass.'
.
The crisis, which is not unconnected with the acquisition of 653 acres of land by Ajao from Orudu- Oyekan family in 1972, is said to be unabated despite various court pronouncements and police intervention in the matter.
.
The indicted persons were said to have turned the land into a no-go area by unleashing violence and chasing away 'Basorun Ajao and his staff on site, threatening to kill and throw their corpses into river.
