Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia said the Eagles 4-1 victory over Argentina was a sweet revenge for the country.
Siasia said he was worried about the tactics to adopt for the encounter before the match but it was good things worked out eventually.
The ex-international said, "We played tactically well in all departments of the game. The players gave them no room at all to use fast-pace counter attacks and other tricks they are noted for.
"It is a good victory for us and we have to continue to build on this to strengthen the team. We are still building the team and so various changes will come in here and there.
"The players came out fighting for every ball and they played to instructions. The goal the Argentines scored was like a gift. It could have been a clean slate."
Siasia commended the team for not losing concentration at crucial moments especially when the visiting team was looking for a goal.
"The players remained focused and that was important for the team. I am really proud of the performance. It has nothing to do with the absence of Messi and co," he added.
