Victor Moses again delighted the Chelsea faithful with a strong performance as the Blues beat AC Milan 2-0 in their latest pre-season friendly on Monday in New Jersey.
.
The 22-year-old was thrown into the fray as a half time substitute by the Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho following his impressive performance against Inter Milan in another pre-season game decided a few days ago.
.
The former Wigan Athletic winger, who came on for Kevin de Bruyne and had been sidelined by injury, quickly made his impact felt with pace and intelligence as he freed Ramires with a lovely ball but the Brazilian dragged his effort wide.
.
Moments later, Moses infuriated Mourinho when he opted to go for glory with a difficult chance, ignoring the unmarked Fernando Torres in the six yard box.
.
He failed to score.
.
Moses who had two assists in the win against Inter came close to redeeming himself midway into the second with a lovely pass to Torres but as the Chelsea striker rolled the ball into the path of Juan Mata, he could only fire straight at the Milan goalkeeper, Christian Abbiati.
.
While Moses continues to prove his mettle for Chelsea, doubts remain over the ability of his compatriot, John Obi Mikel to tie down a regular spot in the Chelsea squad as he was for the second pre- season game in succession, left on the bench only to be introduced in the 65th minute for the impressive Marco Van Ginkel who was one of Chelsea's best performers of the night.
.
At the end of the hugely entertaining game, Mourinho took the time to discuss the performance of Mikel.
.
"Tonight we played 4-2-1-3, only with two midfield players, Marco van Ginkel and Michael Essien, and we finished with Mikel and Ramires," he said.
.
The "Special One" then picked out Moses, praising him for his "creative" qualities.
.
"We have very creative players to play around the striker. All of them are fast, creative, young, (there are) many options. Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle, Victor Moses, De Bruyne, lots of options and quality," he noted.
.
The 2-0 win over Milan means Chelsea are now through to the final of the Guinness International Champions trophy where Moses and Mikel will now have the onerous task of testing themselves against some of the best footballers on the planet when the Blues face Real Madrid.
