Title: Arsenal Set To Offload Gervinho, Chamakh
Post by: Folami David on Aug 06, 2013, 01:20 PM
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh are both set to leave the club before the start of the new season.
.
Ivory Coast forward Gervinho, who cost Arsenal 11 million pounds when he arrived from Lille in 2011, and Chamakh, who was a free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010, have failed to shine at the Emirates.
.
"Gervinho is on a good way to Roma and Chamakh is on a good way to Crystal Palace," Wenger said following his side's 2-1 defeat to Galatasaray in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.
.
Serie A side Roma are set to pay a reported 6.9 million pounds for the services of Gervinho, while the details of Chamakh's move to Palace have yet to be agreed.
.
Arsenal have had two bids for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez rejected and their only signing of the off- season so far is Yaya Sanogo, a 20-year-old French forward, on a free transfer from Auxerre.

Gervinho's offload is something I did not expect at all. I felt the Ivorian stricker was important to the squad since he scored some important goals last season.
