Former Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to visit Everton FC of England forward Victor Anichebe, tender an unreserved apology to the striker and get him back into the senior national team.
.
Reacting to Anichebe's refusal to honour Eagles' invitation after he recovered from a long time injury, Siasia said the young man has a right to turn down calls because of the way he was treated by the NFF.
.
Siasia told Complete Sports in Abuja that Anichebe got injured playing for Nigeria and nobody cared to visit him or call to find out about his recovery or otherwise.
.
"The young man is bitter and justly too because the authorities have not done what it should do about his injury. I think the NFF should visit him and find out why he has turned his back on his country and if possible beg him to rescind his decision."
.
"Anichebe will no doubt be a very valuable addition to the team Keshi is building and I don't think it is proper to leave such young and vibrant player out of the Super Eagles now. We need all our best players in the Eagles to remain Africa's best. "
It's better we just forget about all this apology stuff and focus on more pressing issues @ hand. There are important matches coming up!
