Title: Chime preaches peace, national unity
Post by: Mirror on Aug 08, 2013, 04:31 PM
Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has called on Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Fitr celebration to rededicate themselves to values and virtues that would promote peace and unity among all groups in the country.

Chime, who made the call in a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Chukwudi Achife, said the celebration offered Nigerians the opportunity to reflect on God's love and compassion for mankind.

The governor added the people should extend the same attitude to one another.

He commended Muslims in the state for their contributions to the rapid development of the state especially in their respect for the rule of law and pursuit of peaceful coexistence with their neighbours and people of other religious persuasions.

Chime restated the determination of his administration to protect interests of all groups and communities in the state, adding that such disposition had helped to forge a sense of common destiny and partnership among the people.

There is nothing like peace and unity. I really agree with Gov Chime on this one cos it's the truth. Good one.
