A governorship aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba, has expressed optimism in the governorship election slated for next year.
According to him, he has contested twice for the position and even won the seat in 2007, but that the victory was upturned by the court later.
"I have won it before in 2007 and I have contested for a seat in the Senate twice and won. I believe I am the frontrunner and I believe I will win again," Uba said.
Speaking yesterday with State House correspondents, Uba said he was not in any way intimidated by the number of people showing interest in the election, stressing that he was the best man for the position.
"It is always good to have competition, because that way, if we put our house in order, whoever wins, we will know we have formidable forces because these are reputable men and women in the state and we all have our structures, our people, our supporters and if any of us emerges, when we put all these things together, we are going to win Anambra State," he said.
"After the primaries, we will all agree and sign the form that says that whoever emerges from the primaries, we will support, we don't have any other way than to support the PDP."
