Out of favor, Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins has revealed his desire to clinch the Major League Soccer trophy with his USA side Seattle Sounders.
.
The 28-year old who joined the MLS side in January from Spanish side Levante, has already warmed his way into hearts of the club fans with his consistent performances that have helped the team to its current 7th spot on the Western conference log, seven points behind leaders Real Salt Lake with 38 points.
.
Martins in an interview with fifa.com disclosed that his expectation in his first season at the club was to help his side to a perfect finish by winning the MLS trophy.
.
''We want to win the trophy. That's why it's been difficult, winning a couple of games and then losing again. That's what we're waiting for, the trophy. We want to win. This is a big competition. Our opponents want to win; we want to win, so it's going to be tough. We'll see what will happen. It's fun. This is a fun game and a fun league. Martins is quoted as saying on FIFA.
.
His seven goals and three assists in 14 matches for the Seattle outfit indicates he still has plenty of scoring prowess to offer, despite admitting that the MLS has been tough on him.
Obafemi Martins has really done very well with his football career so far....Trophies are very important in times like this! Good one.
