The Ogun State Government has come to the aid of a 30year old lady, Mrs. Bose Akapo who delivered a set of triplets in Afojupakekere village, a suburb in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State, whose husband absconded upon delivery of the triplets.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Sonubi, while leading a government delegation to the mother ofthe triplets to present financial assistance and relief support, hinted that the ministry embarked on the visit after reading about the plight of the mother in one of the national dailies.
Mrs. Sonubi accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Aderonke Adeyokunnu and the monarch in the area, Oba Kolawole Solomon, advised villagers and elders in the community to accord the young mother and her three girls the needed moral and psychological support to care for the kids in the absence of their father.
She however sent an appeal to the runaway father to return home and support the wife in the upbringing of the new born babies, saying that the Ministry would assist in providing the needed psychological support for the family. Speaking after the presentation, the traditional ruler in the area, Oba Kolawole Solomon commended the present administration in the state for being sympathetic to the plight of the young mother, noting that this gesture had shown the sincerity of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration to the development and well-being of the entire citizens.
