Job description:
• Providing technically sound geological and geophysical evaluation to support field development drilling and reservoir studies in producing asset and near field potential on both non-operated (primary) and operated assets.
• Seismic interpretation, regional geological evaluation and Reservoir geological modeling.
• Assessing, planning, designing / reviewing and supervising geophysical data acquisition
• Geological and geophysical operations.
• Support joint venture activities and any asset acquisition opportunities as may arise.
• Be part of the interface team with joint venture partners and the operator of the asset as and when required so as to maximize asset value (i.e., at "optimized cost"). These will typically occur at various levels including at Subcoms, TECOMs and OPCOMs.
• Conduct risk analysis, regional exploration analyses as appropriate to add new projects to the portfolio
• Assist in operational drilling responsibilities with geological guidance
• Generate detailed technical memos and the review of drilling activities based on daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Provide mentoring / coaching assistance.
• Some local travel will be required
Requirements:
• Minimum of B.Sc. in Geology, Geophysics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' related working experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, to include prospect evaluation, static / dynamic modelling, field development, and or field operations.
• Familiar with recent G&G technologies employed within the oil and gas industry
• Must have experience with cross-discipline integration (Engineering and Geoscience)
• Good knowledge of Petrophysics and Drilling Operations.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory environment (e.g., agreements and contracts, permits)
• Must be capable of working alone or in a small team environment along with other Engineers and Geoscientists.
• Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management, JV partners and third-party stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies including strategic partners at the state oil company.
