Says World Cup qualifier should be their focus Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has cautioned the senior national team players who are gearing up to play the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in an international friendly match tomorrow to have it in mind that next month's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Malawi is more important, saying they should not take the Mandela Challenge game as a do-or-die affair.

The former Nantes of France striker who led the Flying Eagles to a silver medal outing at the FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland in 2005 said the match should be taken as a friendly game while they channel their energy and focus on the World Cup qualifier against Malawi.

"It is good that we are playing South Africa in a friendly match but the players should be made to understand that they must not take it as a do-or-die affair. Fine, our pride is at stake as African champions but we must bear it in mind that this match is not as important as the match coming up in September," says the dark complexioned soccer tactician.

"I can only wish the team all the best but they should be told that they have to take the match easy. We have a more important match next month and they should be careful and focused ahead of that Malawi game," says the Bayelsa state born coach.

The Super Eagles who departed the country's shores on Sunday for the international friendly game will be looking forward to a victory in the match as they have all promised to give their best.

The match is organized to honour former South Africa president Nelson Mandela and it will be played in Durban.
Samson Siasia is definately right with this cautioning...Super Eagles really need that right about now cos it do them a lot of good.
