Job Description: The Foundation is seeking a dynamic leader and a great communicator who can work collaboratively with a diverse set of people. S/he should be mission driven, entrepreneurial and willing to commit to the mission and vision of the Foundation. The ideal candidate is a life-long learner who is a genuine problem solver and seeks to provide services that address needs.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
• Have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the execution of the Foundation's mission and vision by supporting the program leaders of the various programs
• Develop and actively manage the Foundation's brand and communications strategy, promoting the vision, objectives and activities of the Foundation through different media
• Provide advisory services to the programs to ensure the vitality, currency, relevance, and excellence of the Foundation's programs
• Provide leadership, vision, and advocacy for:
• strategic and budgetary planning;
• staff recruitment, development and evaluation;
• research, and scholarship;
• stakeholders of Foundation, church, and community relations;
• finance and fiscal management;
• marketing and fundraising planning;
• program review; and accreditation where necessary.
• Work with the Board and program leaders to establish and implement strategic direction and plans for the Foundation
• Cultivate and manage relationships with all funders, partners, supporters, volunteers and key stakeholders in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, both locally and internationally, to achieve the objectives of the Foundation
• Actively manage all fundraising activities to ensure that they are adequate resources to drive the vision of the Foundation
• In consultation with others, recruit, supervise, and evaluate staff of the Foundation
• Manage the Foundation's budget and ensure transparency and efficiency in the use of funds
• Develop and implement rigorous monitoring and evaluation tools for the Foundation's programs
• Develop and tactfully institute the required systems and structures for the effective operations of the Foundation
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the activities and the impact of the Foundation for the Board, development partners and other key funders
• Any other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
The Foundation is located in Lagos State.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• An advanced degree in relevant field (MA or PhD in social sciences, public policy, social policy, MBA, etc.)
• At least 7 years of management experience; track record of effectively leading and scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization
• Experience successfully developing and implementing communications strategy within an organization
• Proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience
• Strong public relations and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
• Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
• Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
• An understanding of the Christian faith is important
• Passion for Nigeria's development
