Title: Tributes Galore At Pa Fashola’s 8th-Day Fidau Prayer
Post by: Shola Sholaz on Aug 14, 2013, 10:03 AM
Lagos State, practical-ly, stood still yesterday, as eminent Nigerians, foreign diplomats, politicians from various political parties, market women and men, well wishers, among others, thronged the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, venue of the 8th Day Fidau prayers for the repose of late Pa Ibrahim Ademola Fashola, father of Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lags State.
.
Pa Fashola died on August 5, 2013, aged 80, after a brief illness at his Surulere residence, while his son, the Lagos State governor, was far away in Saudi Arabia performing the Lesser Hajj, Umrah.
.
Meantime, various Muslim clerics who offered prayers and gave sermons at the well attended event, preached on the need for men to make humility their watch word even as they urged Nigerian leaders and all those in positions of authority as well as everyone still alive to emulate the life of service to humanity as exemplified by the late octogenarian.
