NATIONAL chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, said Monday, that he was neither resigning as the head of the present National Working Committee, NWC, nor contemplating doing so.
.
Tukur said, while dismissing media reports about plans to remove him from office, that he was never under any pressure to resign his position.
.
In a statement he personally signed, Tukur boasted that he had a good working relationship with President Goodluck Jonathan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT leaders, stakeholders and elders of the party, adding that he had been strategising with them on the need to address the challenges facing the party.
.
Tukur said: "Let me reiterate that I am not resigning and I have no intention of doing so as an elected National Chairman of PDP. I accepted to become chairman based on my conviction that I can use my wealth of experience to help my party and my country.
PDP should just sort out whatever differences they are experiencing over there and focus on how to develop our country Nigeria.
