Wales manager Chris Coleman says he is confident of signing a new contract with the Football Association of Wales.

Coleman, whose current deal runs out in the summer of 2014, has held talks with the FAW over an extension.

The ex-Fulham boss has been impressed with the way talks have been conducted and expects to sign a new deal.

"I think I'll end up signing a new contract, I'm quite confident of that. We're not a million miles apart," he said.

Coleman was appointed Wales boss in January 2012 on a two-and-a-half year contract following the death of Gary Speed.

Wales lost their first four games under Coleman but have won three of their last six matches.

FAW chief executive Jonathan Ford revealed contract talks had begun with Coleman, adding the Wales manager was doing a "fantastic job". "Wales have been good.

Jonathan Ford, our chief executive has been open and honest with me," Coleman added.

"We've had a couple of good conversations and we'll have another one pretty soon.

"I don't see too many major issues with it and the FA are the same - they want it sorted out as soon as we can so we can go forward.

"I'll never do a bigger job than the one I'm doing now. It will always mean the most to me and the one I always wanted to do."

Former Fulham, Real Sociedad and Coventry City boss Coleman said he found managing an international side frustrating after Wales' 2-1 defeat to Croatia in March.
Coleman is very right because football nowadsy involves a lot of confidence for it to work out fine. I support him!
