Samir Nasri has been linked strongly with a move to Old Trafford, with his contract talks at the Emirates stalling and the playmaker himself refusing to rule out a move.
Following the retirement of Paul Schoes last week, reports suggest Sir Alex Ferguson wants the Frenchman at United to bring some much-needed creativity to his midfield.
Discussing the player, Ferdinand admitted he is a big admirer of Nasri's talents and would seemingly welcome him at Old Trafford next season after giving a glowing assessment of his skills.
"Samir Nasri is an excellent player," Ferdinand is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"He is a player who has a good technique and a huge amount of talent - and he scores goals.
"For me, he is one of the best players right now. I think he even won the title of best French football player at international level.
