Real Madrid will be without Xabi Alonso for around three months after the veteran midfielder broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot in training on Wednesday.
.
Alonso, 31, was still recovering from a groin strain which required an operation in June and forced him to miss the Confederations Cup.
.
He missed Real's league debut against Real Betis, a late 2-1 win Sunday, and will now be out until November. It is not clear if the whites will sign a replacement for him in the summer transfer window.
It's really a sad thing that all this players are getting injured at this crucial time...This is when they are needed the most.
