Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh says he is ready to contribute his quota to the growth of Nigerian football in the future.
The former Standard Liege, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax midfielder, who is now based in Belgium, stated this in the aftermath of reports that he turned down the job of a Technical Director offered him by the Nigerian Football Federation.
Oliseh, who represented Nigeria at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups, was said to have rejected the offer due to a paltry 1000 euros reportedly offered by the NFF. He was quoted as saying that the money was too small compared to the national team coaches who were paid millions of naira as salaries.
However, the Atlanta '96 Olympic Games gold medallist said on social network site Facebook on Tuesday that the offer was not right but added that he was willing to help Nigeria return to the top of world football in the future.
He said, "Many have written asking why I refused the FA's technical director job: thanks, but I did not refuse. I am very willing to help give them the missing tips to why we are struggling, but they are stalling and have not made any reasonable offer.
"As I promised, when the time comes, we will bring Nigeria back to its rightful place; top of African football and one of the world's best."
