Post by: Shola Sholaz on Aug 26, 2013, 11:54 PM
Members of d Aworo family of Odogbo in Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State have dragged the Owa Obokun of Ijesa Land, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran before an Osun State High Court in Ilesa, challenging the propriety of his attempt to take over about 4, 000 acres of land which make up Odogbo from them.
.
The fresh suit, which was instituted by the Oba Aworo of Odogbo, Oba Titus Awoleru on behalf of himself and members of the Aworo family, also has Aromolaran and his administrative representative in Odogbo, Chief Adediran Aromolaran as first and second defendants respectively.
.
Aromolaran had recently written a letter to the Aworo family claiming that he had revoked the Odogbo land from them, and that henceforth, the land, which is about 10 kilometers from llesa along Ilesa. Eti-Oni Road, now belongs to him.
.
But the Aworo family, in a statement of claim before the court, recalled that Odogbo was founded by a brave woman known as Yeyetohunsise during the reign of Owa Atakunmosa about 700 years ago.
