Three passengers died on Wednesday in Benin, the Edo State capital, when the vehicle in which they were travelling rammed into a truck.
Four other occupants of the Audi car marked EDO USL 640 AG were also injured.
Eye witnesses blamed the incident on the recklessness of the car's driver.
The witnesses said that the car, running in high speed in the opposite direction, suddenly left its lane and rammed into the truck, which was on its way to Anambra State.
Confirming the incident, the Benin Toll Gate Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Adewale Ameen, urged motorists to always exercise caution while driving on a major highway, even as National Mirror gathered that the corpses of the dead and the injured have been taken to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
