Title: John Ogu Is The Last One In
Post by: Folami David on Sep 03, 2013, 01:00 AM
Academica de Coimbra midfielder, John Ogu will be the last player to join the Nigeria squad ahead for Saturday's 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Malawi.
.
Ogu has been granted permission by head coach, Stephen Keshi to join the rest of the squad on Tuesday as a result of club commitments.
.
Team psychologist, Robinson Okosun who made this known to supersport.com revealed that a "full house" is expected on Monday.
.
"We expect a full house on Monday. Twenty two of the invited twenty players are expected in Nigeria today with the exception of Ogu who has been permitted to arrive a day late because his club is playing a league match in Portugal on Monday," Okosun said.
.
Ogu is expected to play some part in Academica's game against Estoril at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota on Monday night.
.
Nigeria will progress to the final round of qualifying if they avoid defeat against the Flames on Saturday and Okosun believes the Super Eagles are poised to deliver smiles to the faces of their supporters.
.
"I have been speaking to the boys; Mikel (John Obi), Moses (Victor), Emenike (Emmanuel) and they have assured that they are ready to go for the kill.
.
"The players have all promised to arrive on time and that spells bad news for the Malawians. We will be in Calabar on Monday," he said.
.
Nigeria currently heads group F of 2014 Fifa World cup qualifying in the Africa zone with 9 points from 5 matches.
