The National Bureau of Investigation suspects that the Tampere United football club have taken money from illegal sources. The club's offices have been searched and senior figures at the club are helping police with their inquiry.
The NBI said in a statement that the club is suspected of involvement in money-laundering in connection with money taken from a Singaporean firm suspected of result manipulation.
The investigation is connected to the suspected result manipulation involving football clubs in northern Finland.
The second trial in Finland's match-fixing scandal began on Thursday at the Lapland District Court. Nine former Rovaniemen Palloseura players went on trial yesterday accused of accepting bribes from a Singaporean man for manipulating results of football matches.

l think the low patriotism given to football, and the peanut foreigner footballers earn, is responsible for this act.
Of-course, match-fixing can not be totally ruled out in other well established and lucrative football League.
l am of a strong opinion that, the low income foreign players get in Finland, is the motivating factor of match-fixing.
Like the saying goes, "money is the root of all evil".
