Title: Germany Out To Brush Off Faroe Minnows
Post by: Folami David on Sep 09, 2013, 10:24 AM
Germany are targeting another three points in their bid to confirm their 2014 World Cup berth in Tuesday's qualifier away to minnows Faroe Islands.
.
With Joachim Loew's side five points clear in Group C following Friday's 3-0 win in Munich over Austria, bottom side Faroe Islands are not expected to slow Germany's march to Brazil 2014 after losing all seven of their qualification games thus far.
.
Germany can confirm their qualification if second- placed Sweden fail to beat Kazakhstan on Tuesday, but Loew's team are focused simply on leaving the remote north-west Atlantic archipelago with a victory.
.
"If we go there with all seriousness, we won't have any problem and will come away with a clear win," said Germany's Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
.
"The Faroe Islands aren't the strongest team in the group and we have to press them from the start."
.
The only injury doubt ahead of the Germans' flight to the remote islands is Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus, who was suffering with a stomach infection over the weekend and missed Sunday's training.
