GOVERNOR Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State, has approved the immediate re-engagement of 1,546 teachers whose certificates have been verified to be genuine and also passed the proficiency examination.

This came as the government announced that 553 teachers who were absent in both the first and second proficiency examinations without any genuine reason had been dismissed from service with immediate effect.

The approval was contained the memo by Chairman of the Teachers Service Commission, Surveyor Yahaya Baba, in pursuant to the on-going reorganization in the education sector of the State.

A statement by the government said certificates of 1,386 others were still with the verification committee for authentication to identify the genuine ones and that those found to be genuine would be reengaged into the service.

Part of the statement read, "96 teachers who failed the first proficiency examination but later sat for and passed the second proficiency examination have been re-engaged.
Basuchi State Government has done pretty well for their people so they deserve to be commended. This is a wonderful initiative! Let them keep it up....
