Job Title: Senior Research Supervisor (2-year renewable contract)

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the position of Senior Research Supervisor at the Institute's Headquarters in Ibadan.
Duties:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:
• Manage all day-to-day activities in the AfricaRice lowland breeding unit;
• Assign tasks and supervise activities of AfricaRice lowland breeding unit staff;
• Manage the hybridization program of the unit;
• Assists with the seed production and maintenance of pure rice seeds;
• Plan, prepare draft and finalize research protocols in consultations with Scientists
• Supervise executive of rice trials both on-station and off stations;
• Collation and analyses of data from experiments;
• Maintain database of all research results;
• Assists trainees and research fellows in the implementation of their research activities;
• Provide supports to national program staff and national partners for field trials management and data management;
• Contributes to publications and presentations of research outputs;
• Assists in training and perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Educational, Experience and Other Requirements: BSC/HND in Agronomy, Crop Management or General Agriculture plus minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
The ideal candidate must:
• Have good knowledge in using computer and software programs such as Microsoft word, Excel, CropStat, ICIS
• Be able to work satisfactory with minimum supervision in a multicultural setting.
• Possess good communication skills.
