Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has bemoaned the continuous delay in the release of the statutory allocation from the Federation accounts by the Federal Government. He said the development which has been on for a while now is capable of causing untold hardship to Nigerians. Inaugurating the men’s wing of the Mission To Rebuild Ogun State (MITROS) at the MKO Abiola Stadium ,Abeokuta, the governor revealed that the development has been on for a couple of months now that allocation meant for States and Local governments were not fully released to them “ but the situation became critical in August . As I speak, we are yet to collect anything from Abuja. “Salaries are presently not being paid in several states in the country due to this development because many states rely on federal allocation to pay their workers. You will agree with me that this is causing untold hardship for Nigerians The Governor however noted that Ogun State workers have been paid their August salary added, “I must attribute this feat to the cooperation of the good people of Ogun State who paid their taxes promptly. We are one of the few states that have paid the August salary of their workers. I want to thank every one of you that has been paying your taxes and levies. We are very appreciative of your effort and I will enjoin other individuals and companies that are not yet paying to join this patriotic duty.” Senator Amosun assured tax payers in the state that their money is in good hands and would be used for the development of the state. “We will use the money judiciously as you are already seeing what we are using your money to do. It is that money that we are using to construct those roads and bridges you see all around. It is the money we are using to provide free education and security.” He praised the initiator of the MITROS project, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, for the effort adding that the group is not sourcing funds from the purse of the administration but raises its members for its programs.The governor, who charged the group to propagate the rebuilding mission of the government, restated the determination of the administration to restore the lost glory of the state. The initioator of the MITROS group, Mrs Amosun, in her speech, expressed gratitude to the local government coordinators of MITROS for making the day possible. She corroborated the position of the governor that MITROS members fund the group activities from their purse. Mrs Amosun explained that the MITROS group was formed to propagate the ideals and objective of the state government.
