A week after they both escaped elimination, Blessing and David to finally say goodbye to the golden opportunity they had to win any of the mouthwatering cash and car prizes attached to this year's edition of Nigeria's most successful music talent hunt show, Project Fame West Africa. Two weeks ago, they were among those slated for elimination, but Johnny and Nancy's eventual eliminations saved their own skins.
Last Saturday however, they were again among the five contestants who got the least votes from the public in the preceding week who are put up for elimination so that the two of them who fail to find favour in the sight of those with the power to save them at that final point (the judges, the faculty, and the contestants not on probation) are eventually shown the door.
So, the show commenced last Saturday with all the male contestants in a group performance of The Girl Is Mine by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney, and their female counterparts performed The Boy Is Mine by Monica and Brandy.
Immediately after their breathtaking performances, Blessing, Omolayo, Olawale, David and Roland were announced as the contestants with the least votes. Consequently, they took to the stage one after the other to perform again and tried their best so those wielding the power over their existence in the show would favour them.
They gave their best, and the best of them were adjudged to be Roland who was saved by the judges, Omolayo who was saved by the faculty for his consistency since the show began, and Olawale who got the majority votes of the contestants not on probation, so Blessing and David are out for good. As usual again, the remaining contestants only had a day's respite before last Sunday's nomination show got all of them placed on probation again.
With time running out for all the contestants now, as it's just a matter of about four weeks now before the four lucky winners will be chosen, Olu Akinlabi, Head, Media & Publicity, Ultima Limited, PFWA's producer, once again adviced the viewing public to vote wisely so that it would be the most deserving of the contestants that would go home with the recording contract, millions of naira and car prizes on offer.
