President Goodluck Jonathan has fired nine ministers from his cabinet. The discharge was made today September 11, 2013.
The ministers include: Minister for National Planning – Shamsudeen Usman, Minister of State for Defence – Erelu Olusola Obada, Minister of State for Power – Zainab Kuchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs – Olugbenga Ashiru, Minister of Education – Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa'i, Minister of Environment – Hadiza Ibrahim Mailafa, Minister of State for Agriculture – Bukar Tijani Borno, Minister of Housing and Urban Development – Amma Pepple and the Minister of Science and Technology – Ita Okon Bassey Ewa.

Labaran Maku (Minister of Information) - Ministry of Defence
Nyesom Wike (Minister of State for Education) – Ministry of Education
Darius Ishaku (Minister of State for Niger Delta Development) – Ministry of Environment
Musa Sada (Minister of Solid Mineral Dev) – Ministry of Lands, Housing & Urban Development
Omobola Johnson ( Minister of Communication Technology) – Ministry of Science and Technology
Bashir Yuguda (Minister of state, Works) – Ministry of National Planning.
Akinwumi Adesina (Ministers of Agriculture) – Ministry of State for Agriculture
Chinedu Nebo (Minister of Power) – Ministry of Power for State
