SuNMaP is DFID-funded seven year programme (2008 -2015) to support the National Malaria Control Programme. It currently operates in ten states, namely; Awka, Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Niger, Ogun and Yobe with headquarters in Abuja. The project is managed by a consortium of three international organizations, namely: Malaria Consortium UK, Health Partners International and GRID Consulting Nigeria.
The objective of SuNMaP is to strengthen the delivery of the Nigeria's National Malaria control effort by providing technical support to improve the capacity of the National Malaria Control programme (NMCP) at all levels. In doing this, the programme is working with stakeholders in the health sector public and private; as well as civil societies and partners from the commercial sector.
This position will be based in the Kaduna and Yobe offices respectively and will be responsible for providing support to programme operations. S/he will develop a security plan for the programme in compliance with SuNMaP standard operational procedures. Whilst reporting to the Operations Director, the job holder will provide support in the management of commodities and security to ensure value for money at all levels. The Operation officers will manage commodity quantification, procurement and logistics of all supplies; as well as liaison with Crown Agents, Nigeria.
Qualified candidates should possess the following:
• A University degree in Pharmacy, Supply chain management Public health, health logistics or other related fields is required for this position.
• A minimum of 3-years' experience in health related logistics, supply chain management or security management is essential.
• A good understanding of the health systems structure within the Nigerian context will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrable hands-on knowledge of Microsoft office tools is essential for the position.
