Boris Vukcevic can go for short walks again, he can receive visitors and make phone calls.
.
A year has passed since the 23-year-old Hoffenheim midfielder almost lost his life in a car crash on September 28, 2012, and his parents Sonja and Dragan Vukcevic tell dpa in a written interview that he is making progress but that it is too early to determine whether he can continue his football career.
.
"He is in good spirits, very motivated and is making good progress. But you should not forget that he suffered very serious injuries and that the way back remains very, very long," they said.
.
"He is working hard and with a lot of confidence every day. His therapists and doctors are satisfied with his progress. These are steps back to a normal life."
.
The midfielder suffered serious head injuries and was placed in a coma for several weeks after his car collided head-on with a truck on the way to training at the Bundesliga club. Police said examinations suggested that the accident may have been caused by low blood sugar levels as Vukcevic is a diabetes patient and was also involved in a car crash in 2010.
Thank God his life was fully resuced in that car crash so he can live today.
That was a miracle in his life.....
