Post by: OgunState on Sep 27, 2013, 07:31 PM
The Park and Garages Development Board (PAGADEB) in Ogun State is not opposed to individuals or groups establishing private motor parks in the State. Such desire must however follow due process as well as rules and regulations as approved by the State House of Assembly.     PAGADEB’s General Manager, Alhaji Ayoola Ogunsolu made this clarification today in Abeokuta during a chat with newsmen, saying there is orderliness even in heaven.     “Issues concerning the management and control of motor parks and garages in the State fall within the purview of Government, however government will not stop anyone or group interested in establishing one. But they must follow due process and abide by laid down rules and regulations guiding park operations” the PAGADEB boss insisted.     He reminded that government’s order banning illegal motor parks in the State is still in force, warning that henceforth, anyone caught operating illegal motor parks would be made to face the music     “Let me warn again that the Board will henceforth clamp down on operators of illegal motor parks in the State. We will no longer condone the practice where some motorists pick and or offload their passengers at unauthorized spots. The practice usually cause traffic hold ups”, Ogunsolu stated.     Ogunsolu also tasked leaders of the various transport unions in the State to collaborate with the State Government in reducing congestion and ensuring free traffic flow by sensitizing their members to obey traffic rules at all times.     He warned members of the public to desist from joining vehicles at unauthorized spots as they are exposed to dangers and risks such as kidnapping and armed robbery.
