Arsenal boss insists defender's contract talks is on- going Arsene Wenger says talks with Bacary Sagna over a new Arsenal contract remain ongoing.

The Gunners full-back, 30, is out of contract in the summer, but Wenger refused to be drawn any further on the player's future when they sat alongside each other at Monday's pre-match press conference.

'We are always talking about it (contract),' he said.

'When the situation has developed, we will inform you. And there again, I do not think today is the best day to talk (about that).'

Sagna, meanwhile, is confident Arsenal can retain their focus to finally mount a sustained assault on the Premier League title this season.

'At the moment the team is very confident, we are very ambitious and the best way to do that is to win games,' the defender said.

'We have to take it game by game until the end.

'We have the quality to do it and I think we can do it, but we have to stay focused until the end and we have to keep working hard.'
