Post by: Folami David on Oct 08, 2013, 11:31 PM
Arsenal and Chelsea target Paul Pogba REVEALS real reason for leaving Manchester United Paul Pogba has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to overlook him for a match against Blackburn Rovers in 2011 was the real reason why he left Manchester United.
.
The 20-year-old combative midfielder signed a four- year contract at Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 2012 after failing to establish himself in the first-team at Old Trafford.
.
Pogba, who helped the Bianconeri to the Serie A title last season, admitted he gave up on his United career after being snubbed for the new year's eve clash with Rovers.
.
"I said to Ferguson: 'Play me, and I will show you if I'm ready or not'," the French international told Telefoot.
.
"Against Blackburn, on December 31, 2011, I was on the bench. Ferguson puts Rafael in midfield with Ji Sung Park. Then I gave up. I was really bummed.
.
"I joined Juve to silence people who have criticised me, who did not believe in me and said that I would fail."
.
The midfielder has been a huge success at Juventus since joining making 38 appearances in his debut season, netting five times.
.
Pogba has already made a good start to the new campaign scoring twice in seven outings, with unbeaten Juventus sitting third in the table five points behind leaders Roma.
.
The former United star is currently in talks to extend his stay with the Italian champions, with interest mounting from Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea.
