Wayne Rooney has praised new Manchester United manager David Moyes for making him feel more settled at the club and for improving his fitness levels.

Disaffected at being asked to play in midfield, Rooney had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer but having been restored to his favoured attacking role did the trick.

"You can see I'm playing and I'm happy in my football," said Rooney, who has scored five goals this season, having been played deeper last year, just off Robin van Persie.

"David Moyes has come in and he's playing me up front and I'm enjoying it.
