Former Nigeria International, Finidi George believes the role of agents in major transfers are a bit overrated.
.
Finidi exclusively told supersport.com in an exclusive video interview at his base in Mallorca that "agents or managers really do not have such a big say in when or where a player moves."
.
Finidi lives in Mallorca where he is one of the youth team coaches at Majorca Football club. The 1995 Champions League winner explains "usually a big club starts a season or midway through the season they start to look for certain players with the qualities their coach needs. When they have identified those players or found those available then do they make contact with their agents."
.
He cited the case of "Ozil at Madrid who wanted to remain in there but Madrid wanted to sell. So what could his agent have done but to make sure Ozil gets a good deal at the club who would have wanted him."
