Description:
The 3G RNO Engineer is assigned to work on improving the technical performance and competence of the RNO team (improve the current methods of troubleshooting problematic cells), developing "Performance Improvement" plans of the 3G network (testing new radio features and parameters tuning), improving the (weekly/monthly) technical reports generated to the customer. It is the responsibility of the RNO engineer to have a good interaction with the customer and make sure to solve and correct radio network problems according to agreed timing and standards set, to detect and highlight radio network deficiencies and to some extent predict future degradations.
• The 3G RNO Engineer Functional Role is typically working with NodeBs and RNCs.
• NodeB hardware problems are to be identified and escalated to corresponding departments.
• Highly contribute in the creation and improvements of the procedures and routines within the RNO department.
• The 3G RNO Engineer is to take full responsibility for any changes introduced to the radio network or to any changes made to methods, processes or procedures, whether internal or external.
• The 3G RNO Engineer category is vital in ensuring and keeping the performance of the radio network at the highest possible level by ensuring that problems / degradations are handled swiftly, and that the contracted KPI's are fulfilled.
• The 3G RNO Engineer should solve and correct radio network problems according to agreed timing and standards set.
• Provide the Management with reports of the Network Performance Improvement progress & co-operate fully.
• To have good 2G knowledge in order to fix IRAT problems
The main activities are the following:
• Maintain and improve radio network KPIs
• Interfacing with the customer, fulfil their technical requirements
• Performance monitoring of NodeB & RNC nodes
• Identifying and solving problematic Cells
• Perform & analyse traces on regular basis
• Analysing Drive Test log files and give recommendations
• Create and Analyse Performance Reports
• Escalate identified HW problems to corresponding departments and follow up till resolution
• Investigate sudden Radio network performance degradations

• Strong knowledge of Ericsson 3G & 2G radio features/parameters.
• Very good experience in using Mapinfo, MCOM, NeXplorer, TEMS.
