Disturbed by the emergence of Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal as Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday set up a panel to review its power sharing arrangement.
Tambuwal's election on June 5 violated the party's zoning formula, as against the party favorite, Mrs. Mulikat Akande-Adeola from the South-West as its candidate.
The National Working Committee of the party, had a six-hour meeting in Abuja, on the issue of zoning. During the meeting, the party agreed that the best way to resolve the rift created by the emergence of Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal as Speaker House of Representatives, was to ensure that the remaining positions in the party and the National Assembly were equitably shared.
