Guinness, proud sponsors of the Nigeria Super Eagles on Sunday rewarded the Super Eagles with the sum of $4,000 after the Super Boys continued to inch closer to the 2014 World Cup by securing a 2-1 away win over the Walya Ibex of Ethiopia in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier at the Ydnekachew Tesema Stadium, Addis Ababa.

The Ethiopians were the superior team for the first hour and led after 56 minutes as Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama misjudged a cross from Behailu Assefa but the Eagles equalised through Emmanuel Emenike's ferocious drive after 67 minutes. Emenike later won and scored a penalty late in the game to seal a 2-1 win. Mr. Austin Ufomba, Marketing and Innovation Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc while praising the team, stressed that the company made a commitment to reward the Super Eagles with $2,000 for each goal scored to show their unflinching support for the team and cheer them to victory.

In reassuring the team of its total and unwavering support, Ufomba said, Guinness will always fly with the Eagles where ever they go, because it believes strongly in the team's ability to secure a place in Brazil 2014.
