The State Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Ilubanafo said this while briefing newsmen on the activities of the State Police Command.

Olabisi Ilubanafo stressed that it was time for another success story for the State Police Command and revealed that seven groups of suspected criminals were paraded at the Oyo State Police Command in Eleyele, Ibadan. He stated this while briefing the press on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Indabawa, adding that 'the Command is determined more than ever before to stem the tide of crimes in all the nooks and crannies of Oyo State.' Among the suspected criminals paraded by the Police was Abiodun Adelabu, the leader of a gang of armed robbers who attacked two members of the Oyo State House of Assembly last month.

The Police Public Relations Officer recalled that Abiodun Adelabu was arrested within the Beyerunka area of Ibadan metropolis after engaging the Police in a gun battle. Also paraded were members of an automobile robbery syndicate, a serial car robber and a fake army officer. Another suspect who is a member of a dare- devil gang of four men was paraded.

"Through the efforts of the Police Command, the vehicle was demobilized using a tracking device which forced the arrested robber to push it into the Church which he attends in the Gbongan Area of Osun State. He was said to have informed his pastor that he had recently bought the car which developed a fault, demanding the pastor to help keep it safe for him," he revealed.

The vehicle, he noted was traced to Gbongan where Yinka Oyeniran was trapped on his way to picking it up. The PPRO attributed the success recorded to the collaborative efforts of the Police and the people and urged the public to be always alert to giving useful and timely information to the Police on suspected criminals in their vicinities. This he inferred will reduce the rate of crime in the society.
