Greece will have to negotiate a two-legged playoff if they are to reach the 2014 World Cup finals as their 2-0 home win over Liechtenstein on Tuesday could not prevent them finishing behind Group G winners Bosnia.
.
Dimitris Salpigidis finished off a neat passing move while skipper Giorgos Karagounis curled home a free- kick to produce two rare moments of quality in an otherwise tepid encounter as Bosnia's 1-0 win in Lithuania proved decisive.
.
Both teams ended qualifying with 25 points but Bosnia's superior goal difference saw them qualify for the World Cup for the first time in the country's history. Greece will have to wait to see if they can make what would be their third appearance in the competition.
.
The draw for the playoffs, which will take place over two legs on November 15 and 19, will be held in Zurich on October 21.
Nigeria has been facing Greece in the World Cup so it is most likely that happens this time if we eventually qualify. I hope we defeat any team we face in Brazil
Well there are not the only country that is in that position right now so they have to do everything possible to win.
