It was endorsement galore for Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi's second term ambition all the way yesterday at the mega rally held in Ado Ekiti to commemorate his third year in office.
The endorsement came from various associations, including market women, trade associations, youth groups, students, Ekiti State Caucus in the National Assembly and the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the three senatorial districts of the state, among others.
An excited Fayemi, who assumed office exactly three years ago yesterday, told the mammoth crowd that; "I am where the people stand."
Fayemi, who thanked the people, including former Governor Niyi Adebayo and the founder of Afe Babalola University, Chief Afe Babalola and other well meaning Ekiti people for their support said; "I want to tell you that I am not tired. There is more in the arsenal of development."
He appreciated Ekiti people for always identifying "with peace, progress and development as shown in the testimonies on this occasion", adding that his administration would continue to make life more meaningful for them; "This is the essence of the eight-point agenda of the administration."
The governor said: "In the struggle ahead, we will prove to the people who think they have the power of the gun. We will not give up, our duty to the people is that we will not relent to make sure that we develop our people and remove them from the shackles of poverty."
Speaking earlier at the occasion, which was attended, among others, by Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and his Osun State counterpart, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, National Assembly members from the state and the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe; Afe Babalola described the occasion as "historic."
