The School of Archaeology and Ancient History is offering graduate teaching assistantship for January 2014 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. Graduate teaching assistantship covers full-time University UK/EU tuition fees for four years and includes an annual maintenance grant and salary. Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in archaeology or a relevant discipline and meet the University's Standard English language entry requirements. Application deadline is November 4, 2013.

Study Subject(s): This post is open to applicants wishing to pursue doctoral research in any area of late medieval archaeology and/or heritage and archaeology (or a combination) that can be supervised by the School's academic staff.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in archaeology or a relevant discipline and meet the University's Standard English language entry requirements. It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before January 2014.

-It is desirable that applicants should have teaching experience.

-This post is open to suitable UK/EU and international (i.e., outside the EU) applicants. Please note though that the award covers tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only. International applicants (and those not eligible to pay UK/EU tuition fees) must demonstrate at the time of their application that they can fund the difference in tuition fee rates.
