The Nigerian military on Friday imposed a 24-hour curfew on the north eastern State of Yobe following attacks on Damaturu by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Thursday night.
Capt. Eli Lazarus, spokesman of the 3 Division Special Operations Battalion,Damaturu announced the curfew in a statement.
"The 3 Division Special Operation Battalion, Damaturu, hereby imposes a 24-hour curfew across Yobe state, with immediate effect.
"Law-abiding citizens are enjoined to remain calm as the battalion steps up its operation to rid the state of insurgents," he said.
A state of emergency was imposed on the state, alongside Borno and adamawa lat May.
