Nigeria is a very religious country and many people hold strong belief in the power of prayers and that prayer can change every situation.
Therefore, it is not unusual to see countless number of churches and mosques across the country where many Nigerians worship the Lord. However, in spite of the large number of churches and mosques, the challenges facing the nation keep increasing and the state of our infrastructure and other sectors of the economy leaves more to be desired.
Our religious activities have not brought remarkable transformation in our lives. The strong believe that God can do everything even if we do not do our own part, makes many Nigerian to seek spiritual help for their problems.
So, every year, Nigerians and many other Christians all over the world perform pilgrimage to the holy land of Israel to seek the face of God for solution to many challenges facing them.
For Nigeria, this year was unique as President Goodluck Jonathan led the Nigerian delegation to pray for spiritual guidance to be able to pilot the affairs of the nation and solution to the country's myriads of problems including the state of insecurity which poses threat to national peace and unity
While on pilgrimage, Jonathan used the opportunity to take a tour of some locations in Israel which are revered by Christians because of their association with the earthly mission of Jesus Christ.
The Presidency in a statement issued before the trip denied report that Jonathan would be leading 19 state governors and about 30,000 Nigerians to the holy land describing the report as a misrepresentation of facts.
GEJ is right, this country need help! A.s.a.p
